Andy Richter was a great little show, off beat and fun. I was one of those shows that suffered the “Shuffle” of being cancelled a time or two and then picked up by other networks and the time and location changes made it hard for audiences to find it. I Keyed the last 13 episodes before it was cancelled for the last time. We shot on Stage 15 at Paramount, a Stage that I have spent a lot of time on, Charmed, Drop Zone, and lots of other projects have had me there. Much of the crew were the same guys that were around for “ARLISS” Greg Guellow was my BB, Steve Grieves and I think John Farmer were Dolly grips, with Robert Nelson, Rusty Davis, and “Dudley” as Hammers. Steve Confer was the DP and the Ruiz brothers were ACs on the show.
A shot looking down of the green beds into our main set area.
Robert Nelson was always working his brain power…….
Grips Dudely and Rusty look on with “intense” interest……
Goofing around with a “Back up” wall built in 505 scale to go outside another sets window to give the impression of distance. Makes Rusty look like a giant!
Pat our Boom Man one arms it. This was one of the first all HD shows (non Film) I had done and you can see the cable feeds that led back to the had drives at the early stage of the game.Rob and Steve Ruiz trying to look innocent! I have had a lot of fun with these two going all the way back to when they were PAs on Playboy shoots.
I tend to drive set dressers crazy because I will move stuff around if need be with out waiting for them…… here is one after a day working with me!
A fine shot of our Electrical crew sitting right where they belong, behind bars!Steve Confer and I outside one of our AR swing set stages, 14? at Paramount. I worked Dolly Gripped on “Deep Space Nine” the Star Trek Series also shot on this stage several years before.Waiting for the next setup…..
Steve Greeves pushed B-Dolly on Andy, wore cowboy boots the whole time! Caught here attempting to stay out of sight!
Dudley too attempts to stay out of sight.
Don the B-Camera operator gets some zzzzzz’s at lunch outside stage 15, Paramount
Don looking like he needs some zzzz’s in front of a Chicago skyline backing on stage 15.
Dennis Barth gets lots of reading time in….
Don our on set painter, rare nowadays!
Don (operator ) missing his couch!
Dudley thinks about his past mistakes……
